Christmas 2008

We had a great Christmas this year, very modest. Tim got us all up at 5 a.m. because he was so excited. The kids really likes their gifts and played with them all morning, while the parents went back to bed. I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but Donovan has officially out grown me, height and weight.

We took these pictures of St. Elias on our way back from Valdez to Fairbanks. The temperature in Valdez was a warm 20 degrees above, when we got to Fairbanks it was a chilly -40 below. This marked winter as officially here in Alaska.

Christmas Orchestra Concert

This is was Donovan and James's christmas orchestra concert. The pictures didnt come out to well since the lighting wasn't quite right. Donovan's back is all I get to see most of the time. James is in the back right. Donovan is the one foward left.

Ward Christmas Party

We had our ward Christmas party on December 13. Stan and DeeAnn came for Keegan's surgery so we got to bring them to the party as well. Stan was not interested in dancing but how could he say no to his grand daughters! We had a lovely time, the parties theme was a fiesta. We had a salsa (dip) competition, pinatas, singing, and real live band. We have a gentleman in the ward that has a band that plays here in Fairbanks, they are really great.

This is a Big Week, we are currently at the State Cup for Soccer in Donovan's age bracket. We have won our first 3 games now. We will have our final game on Saturday for who will become State Champions. If we win, we will go to Reginals next year, which means leaving the State of Alaska for this team. We will keep everyone updated.

4th of July weekend

We went up to Chatinika for the 4th. We had so much fun. The weather was great, we were in the 80's the whole weekend. If we got hot we just jumped in the creek. We camped out for 2 whole days with lots of friends from Church.

Angel Rock's

This was our fun weekend camping/Hiking. We hiked Angel Rock's, the distance is about 3.5 miles. Both James and Donovan have hiked this in the past with us. This was Allison's first time and she was a real trooper. The trail up has an elevation of about 900 feet to the top. We really had a great time and wanted everyone to see the beauty of Alaska.

Hurt arm & haircut

So I thought I should just send a picture of my arm and my new haircut. I don't look to great as things have to be done with one hand and my left at that. I will have to keep this on for about 6 weeks. Ugghhh! What lovely summer this will be. I am learning to brush me teeth, do make up, and type with my left hand. When his is all over I might prefer my left... Dishes are dangerous, DON'T ever them again.

Allison's Birthday!

This was Allison's Birthday. I intended it to be bigger than normal but still ended up with only family here. We had alot of fun and Allison was very happy to have some of her cousin's there. The dollhouse in the back ground was our present to her. Grandpa Stan and Tim picked it out all be themselves.

Snow Fall

Just wanted to share what wonderful weather we can have in Alaska. This was on May 1st! Not a great start to a day.

Jame's Pine Wood Derby

This was Jame's first competive pine wood derby. Tim let him design it and then they cut it. Jame's pretty much did most of all the work for the looks. He was doing really great in second unitl one of the weights fell off half way through and you can't adjust after so he ended up getting 4th place. He had a great time. I was really proud of him afterword, I was watching him shake the winner's hand and tell him "great job". I was so happy to see him being such a good sport and really enjoying it for the fun.

Tim's 30th

I wanted to add a picture of Tim's Birthday as no one is really close enough to be with us. We did a last minute thing. I asked that my mom could decorate as we had to spend the day of Tim's birthday at church doing the pine wood derby. I am Jame's leader but of course I volunteered Tim to help as he loves it just as much. My mother played as though she didn't know it was his birthday and decorated our house and then came to the pine wood derby. Tim's heart was broken when she told him she had forgotten. Well we made sure to come home and Tim was the first to come through the door. I came up the steps and he was smiling ear to ear. I of course didn't think to have the camera ready then.
